Had steak for the first time since surgery

We had medium well filet mignon tonight. I bought papaya enzymes just in case something got stuck but it all went well! The meat was so tasty and tender. This open new food doors!

Glad you (and your pouch) enjoyed it! I have had difficulty eating at all since my surgery on 5/31, but tender beef is my pouch's favorite. This is strange since I was never a fan before surgery. I can almost always count on a medium new york strip to go down well. I have found that asian style beef dishes (Korean, Vietnamese, Thai) are easy for me to eat lately. I can eat about 1 1/2 to 2 ounces and I'm not miserable afterwards so this finding has helped me up my protein, feel almost normal when lunching with colleagues, and start to enjoy my surgery.

You're making me hungry!  I could also eat steak fairly early out....waaaay before
chicken and I started getting along.  Glad it was so good and you're right....
opens up a new world of food choices.  I put sirloin cubes in a yummy homemade
veggie beef soup I make.  Love it!  I freeze it up in 1 cup containers and just grab and
go for lunch weekdays.  Between that and my homemade chili and a chicken/white bean
veggie homemade Mexican soup, I love my lunches.  Have fun with steak everything!

I will be 6 weeks Tuesday so I jumped a few days early and had steak too last night.  OMG that's what the doctor ordered...  I am a carnivore by nature and my biggest fear was solid meat would be an issue.  I am an avid hunter as well and will have a large amount of venison this fall and look forward to steaks, chops, and of course soooo much Jerky...  I have been incredibly lucky with a very happy healthy pouch and am glad that you too can be one of us carnivores again ;-)
