My mom is taking me to my favorite pre-op restaurant and it is a thai one.. I haven't had thai food since the surgery. What would you get?

At 20 months out, I eat Thai all the time.  I usually order the Chili Basil  (sp) Tofu or one of the salads.  Occasionally I'll order the Chili Basil Chicken but prefer the tofu.  Sometimes I'll order the Garden Vegetable soup.  I don't like meat any longer pretty much, so I try to eat more vegetable dishes.

I'm thinking i'll get the basil chicken or the cashew chicken. I worry that the basil chicken would be a little too spicy though.

This surgery has left me with a strange phenomenon.  My family loves hot, very hot, spicy food.  We grow peppers.  However since surgery, I cannot seem to get my food spicy/hot enough.  My taste buds radically changed.  It is so weird...I just do not "taste" spicy hot in my mouth like I did pre-op.

Funny you mention that, I was 5 weeks out and just cleared for solid chicken, and was out with friends and they had ATOMIC CHICKEN on the menu.  how could I resist.  After signing my release form, yes they make you sign a release form, i dug in.  First of 2 grand revelations.  1) It was very hot, but not that bad, everyone else was dying and I was hysterical as they turned red and sweated to death.  Revelation number 2)  eating ATOMIC CHICKEN and having to chew it to mush and not drink makes the experience oh so more real...  no one could believe I ate my little 3 oz piece without drinking chewing each bite for 45 seconds.  they were biting 3 times and swallowing and dying...  I guess I have a steel pouch because I had no ill effects and don't think there is anything hotter on the face of the earth to eat... :-)

I just had this a few weeks ago.  It was grilled chicken, which was 1/2 a chicken marinated in Thai seasonings, broiled then grilled, then served with Thai sweet and sour sauce on the side.  I had mine with vegetables.  It was huge, cut into 6 pieces, which made 3 meals for me.
