You shouldn't have to make a trip anywhere outside Dayton. Every bariatric surgeon is going to have a subscription to the bariatric journal--so much so that a lot of medical libraries may not be listing it in their holdings because everyone surgeon does have it so their need for another subscription is low.
The American Journal of Surgery is a standard journal that Wright State should have. Your surgeon should also be able to get this for you from at least Miami Valley or St. E's as well as Kettering. A lot of hospital libraries have off campus access to the online databases for their medical staff so they could easily be able to get it from their office.
In the good old days you could write the designated author for a reprint. You could always ghost write one of those, too, for your surgeon to send on her stationery but it shouldn't be necessary.
One of your surgeons should be willing to get this for you. After all, they "owe" you on this one. They might be interested as well. Hope this helps.
