I spend too much money on going out to eat.

I seriously gotta stop. I love going out to eat. Today I went to chicken out and got rottisserie chicken. Pretty healthy stuff if I don't eat the skin so I don't feel bad about my food choices. I'm excited that I can go out to eat now and get really healthy choices! BUT now I want to go out to eat all the time. UGH. Make it stop!

same here. but i go out with the kids because theyre impossible to cook for at home, they never eat what i make, so its much easier. but we are trying to save $ & going out all the time isnt helping!

 Hence, the avoiding food-based activities. There is a method to my madness....Give yourself a food budget and just tell yourself you CAN'T when you've been out too many times.

BTW, all but 2 clients cancelled on me today. WTF? Well, in lieu of anything constructive to do I spent 30min on my treadmill.

Just the cheese is good. Not the butter ones. The butter ones are nasty. Have you tried quest yet?

 Tried the vanilla almond quest and actually like it so I might end up buying some. With what money, no idea....

I like going out to eat, too, but that is because I hate to cook and because I can usually make one restaurant meal last for 2 or 3 meals.  Last night we went out to IHOP and I got the grilled pork chops so I have dinner for tonight.
I really don't have the money to go out often.  I usually go out once a week with my boyfriend.  What I try to do is when I do cook I make enough for several meals and freeze them so I don't have to cook so often.  I got a new crock pot and last week I made chicken hindquarters, which didn't come out so good for some reason so my dogs were happy and then I made pot roast and same thing, I didn't care for it.  My dogs are really benefiting from this crock pot.  I am going to try to find some other things I can make.
I also made some of Eggface's egg bites to keep in the freezer.  I find that if I have good, healthy food available that I don't have to cook if I don't feel like it, I am less tempted to go out to eat.

I hear you.  One thing I have found helps me is to plan a menu for the week.  I usually only plan dinner because I usually eat a protein bar for breakfast and then lunch is usually leftovers from the night before.  But having a menu for the week lets me make sure I get everything I need at the grocery store and just makes it easier to cook at home.  I'll put "going out to eat" on the menu for one day a week.

 I guess I also think that I probably make good choices at restaurants but better choices at home. That makes me feel guilty too!

We eat out quite a bit, there are 5 of us, and when I cook I don't plan menus I just grab some kind of meat or fish out of the freezer and out of my cupboards and make something healthy from what ever I grab, Just wish my daughter would cook too

 Being stuck at home has helped me so much in this. I now take the money that I would have spent on food and put half away to buy myself hot momma clothes 

I agree that having a menu for the week makes it so much easier to deal with. I don't get day specific I say ok this week we are having and then see what sounds good on what day.

Are you going out to eat with people? or by yourself? if it is with others to meet up or hang out. Try and get them to meet you somewhere without food like the park or musuem.
