Ooh one other thing is fruit desserts. Before surgery I really loved things like cake and donuts and pastries. Now the thought makes me gag. I used to think stuff like fruit pies and apple crisp was a sorry excuse for a dessert. But the other night I had a little bit of my grandmas apple crisp and it was the best thing ever.

So far mine has been canned chicken.  It was just one of those sample items on a lunch menu from my nutritionist and I ended up loving it.  I can buy it in cans small enough that they are the perfect serving size and there are so many options I've got as far as what to put on it for a little extra taste, moisture, etc...  It was the first thing I had when I started soft foods... even though that was less than a week ago.  lol

Well honestly, there wasn't much I didn't eat pre-op (hence, part of my problem) -- I still stand by my hatred of mayonnaise, olives, shrimp, tomatoes, and most other seafood, and okra. That's about it. However, my foods I used to could take or leave but now I love are:

yogurt
broccoli (LOVE LOVE LOVE and was my craving when I left the pureed stage)
coffee
all fruit (minus grapefruit, hate it)

I've always loved peanut butter but since I had WLS, I am completely obsessed. It's part of my day everyday in some form or fashion : )

Be happy.

SKIPPY CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER.... by spoonful, in protein shake, on rice cakes, on apples, celery, melted on toast (mmmm), melted on protein ice cream....

Ok, so I am addicted!  Said it...

Never like yogurt but I absolutely love Greek yogurt.  Still don't care much for the gloppy stuff.  Before surgery, I ate eggs and after couldn't stand them, not even seeing someone else eat them.  I'm just now able to eat an egg but they aren't a favorite.

There's more foods I don't like now that I liked before WLS.  The smell of fried foods is nausiating and I have no desire to eat anything fried.  Those are good things.  Used to love fried chicken strips.

Mushrooms.   I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole pre-surgery.   Now I add them to anything and everything.    Thinking that sauteeing some mushrooms and onions in a little bit of olive oil might be a really good idea!

Green olives...I wouldn't touch them before surgery, now I could eat a whole jar of them myself if given enough time. I think it's because I've been super salt craving post-op (possibly due to my new-found HYPOtension) and they are like, the epitome of concentrated salty goodness.

Really didn't like beans pre op, but love them now.  Now I love salmon and tuna, but now I can't eat it.
