Weekend Confession

My eating was TERRIBLE this weekend.  I know I lacked every day in protein.  Friday night it was after 8 before I got to eat anything and had a half of grilled cheese sandwich.  Saturday, I cooked lasagna for the family so that is what I had too.  Of course it was a much smaller portion than I would have ever eaten before.  Sunday, well we had pot luck at church.  I tried to eat just protein and I did really good there.  Last night I cooked blackened shrimp w/ alfredo pasta.  I ate a little bit but kept it within my boundries.  Then the devil struck around 8 pm last night.  My son had a whole bowl of sherbert ice cream.  Now, I will be the first to admit that ice cream is my weakness.  I ate 3 bites of it.  Uhhh I wanted the whole bowl but I knew I would be beyond sick so I stepped away.  Today is a new day though.  Thank goodness our pouch forgives and forgets!

You are correct.  The only difference is now I stop..where as before I would have finished off the tub.  That is progress to be proud of!

I spent the weekend at the county fair with my kids and thier animals.  Have you ever tried to find a healthy meal at a fair?  My weekend was beyond bad also, so today we get back on track and start over again!

I have to say only because I'm excited about the fair coming soon that they have roasted corn on the cob thats good....of course usually i want stuff like corn dogs and fried oreos.

Tonya don't be too hard on yourself. We all have bad days or bad few days. Think about how much you would have had before surgery! You are doing a wonderful job.

I want lasagna.

Thanks....

I figured the lasagna wasn't tooo bad because of the cheese and meat so it has alot of protein as long as you have the carbs to use on the noodles.

Oh and fried oreos.  I had the recipe for those and they are awesome.  I put a match to it a week before my surgery!!!

Since my surgery I have followed the plan almost to the letter, but have had relapses where I battled the following:

dark chocolate
apple chips
sugar free candy

I realized that, no, I can't eat just one.  But, you are right, we stop eating these things if they start a trigger.  And we don't give up.  Hip Hip Hooray for us.
