I agree with the others that you feel feel better after you are healed from surgery. But what I also infer from your post is that you are a people pleaser. That you probably do a lot of things you really don't want to do, but you do them anyway to make others happy. Part of getting healthy is getting healthy in your relationships, too. You need to learn to stick up for yourself. Learn to say "no". Learn to get other people to do things for you, too. You have to learn to be assertive and put yourself first. Period.

Thank you all for the encouragement and advice. I have been reading (and re-reading) them and really taking it to heart.  I know I will come  through this and be better for it.
