I am one week post-op.  Things have been going okay.  I'm still dealing with some depression.  I have not had a good night's sleep.  I feel like I'm not going into a deep sleep, and then I'm dreaming all the time.  Any suggestions?

I was like that for the first wee****il I started walking more. Increasing my walking really tired me out and I slept a lot better. Also, once I was able to take only tylenol and no narcotic pain meds the dreams decreased, too. But don't worry, it will get better with time. :)

I had my RNY on July 25th.  I am feeling exactly like you are.  I have had so many of the "what the heck did I do " moments.  I have had only 1 solid night of sleep but I had nightmares all night due to my pain meds. My doc changed my pain med to Lortab but I still had horrific dreams that night. I also have a JP drain in that is giving me new pain.  They tell me to hang in there...I guess that is all we can do...it will get better.

I didn't get good sleep for a month after my surgery, for several reasons.  The first reason was that I was unable to sleep on my belly (I spend a good portion of the night on my belly, so that was a big problem for me). The second reason was that my sleep schedule was all kinds of messed up due to the nurses waking me up all night long in the hospital.  Then, I'm sure that emotional issues probably played a role.  Your sleep will get better, just hang in there.  Plus, when you loose weight, you should be getting a better quality of sleep!

Hello... I'm almost 4 weeks out and I have a Gtube in my old stomach... I thought this was the reason I've been sleepless in Orlando... However, I recently went 28 hours with no sleep at all.. .and at first my husband laughed when I said I have insomnia but then as time has past and he awakes at 4 am and I'm still not sleep even without napping during the day he's saying, Hunny what's wrong? Nonetheless, I'm learning to deal with it and just go with the flow. My coworker is about 8 weeks out from RNY and at about & weeks she was just getting her body to rest properly. Sooooo... look to the future honey it's gonna get better for all of us... our bodies are just saying, "What the heck did You do to me".... JUST LOL AND KEEP IT MOVING...TAKE CARE FOR NOW..
