Drain..... drain?

How long did the place where your JP Drain was still kinda ooze or leak out stuff? Not infection kinda stuff... jus****ered down looking blood.  ??  The area around the incision isn't red, irritated or anyting.... just kinda weeping.

I had my drain for a week after surgery. The entire week it oozed a little daily. Thena t one week out when they pulled it, it still oozed koolaid looks stuff for about a week.

I hate that dang drain!!! It was the most happy of my days when it came out!

It's normal.  Like everything, ti avries by person... usually a couple of days to a week, but sometimes longer.

a couple weeks.  As long as it's not pus, or stinks BAD, or is red and hot it's ok according to my surgeon

Hmm I only had a drain one day and never had anything weep or come out after they removed it.

They removed my drain in the hospital and I thought it seemed early because it was still outputting A LOT.  Well, 4 days later one of my incisions popped open and ooze started coming out! That was pleasant. LOL. It oozed for about a week.

Just keep it covered with gauze and change it daily. And watch for redness/smells!  Good luck!
