I had the same thing happen kind of .. I went to the er 2 times  which was a hospital my surgeon did not go to. They  told me it was a bladder or kidney infection..  After they all suspected it to be kidney stones  because I was in so much pain Gave me pain meds and sent me home.  I went 2 days later after I fell to the floor in pain the ER said it was a cyst on my ovary. More meds which didnt help ( I thought I was just going to die)  So I called the dr first thing the following monday morn. I was doubled  and I moaned  (perhaps a little more than necessary) As I can handle pain and I wanted them to know how bad I hurt. They scheduled an exploritory surgery the next day. My intestines were twisted and they fixed them and removed some scar tissue.  I am much better now.

I would schedule an appointment with him  or just show up and kind of cause a scene. Then they will have to help you.

Just my opinion...  The ER could have killed me.

Lora,

I'm so sorry things didn't work out for you and your stuck with having this unexplained pain. I hope that you can find a doctor that will help you out and get to the bottom of it. Doctors can be such ASSES. I know I work with them everyday. There are some days I just want to slap them upside the head. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that things get better for you.

So sorry you are going through this. Don't give up...if your doctor will not listen, find another who will!

Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can.

My advice would be to find another surgeon for another opinion and to see if he/she will do the surgery.  If not, than find another surgeon and another one and keep lookng until you find one that will help you.  There is no reason that you should have to worry all the time about this random severe pain.

I was thinking kidney stones as well...
also my nephrologist mentioned to NEVER take morphine cause it messes with the constriction the muscles go thru since we're in intense pain.  I always go with dilaudid...

Babygirl got her surgery March 3rd...     She's from 339 to 200 as of 6/14/2012.. SOO proud of my bigbabygirl

Lora, I'm SO sorry this didn't turn out the way you had hoped!  I know this has been said umpteen times but perhaps another opinion from another surgeon is in order?

I don't know where you are located in Ohio but I am going in tomorrow to Bowling Green to see Dr. Lalor and he is doing exploratory surgery on me because of sharp pains in my left upper abdomen...he thinks its an internal hernia...anyways...maybe if not too far away, check with him and see if he could do something to help you...you shouldn't have to live with the pain...

I really hoped you would be able to get some answers finally on where this pain is coming from. Don't settle for this, don't stop until you get a resolution.... you deserve better

This may sound crazy but.....do you drink alot of crustal light?  I had a very simular pain in the same spot and very deep and very very painful.  I went to my dr and she was very mean to me.  I had recently had the lap band placed and she disagreed with my decision.  The only thing she did for me was order boold work.  She said must be constipated.  I told her I went every day and she said I was probably pooping yesterdays poop.  I wasn't.  I was in so much pain I could barely talk and she yelled at me because she couldnt hear me because she had a fan above her head.  She was so mean and yelling at me that as soon as I walked out of her office I burst into tears.    Anyway I started thinking about what I had been doing differently the past couple of months and I realized that I had been drinking a lot of crystal light .  So I stopped drinking it and just drank plain water.  Within a week my pain was almost gone.  It took about a month for the pain to go away completely.  I waited about three months and tried to drink it again just to test my theary and within two days I had the pain back.  Now if I drink it I only drink one cup, no more then twice a week and I am fine.

Good luck and hope you get better.

PS...I never went back to that Dr again
