20 Month Post Op Update
Thank you for your kind words. It is a little odd and has been a learning experience. I did not touch sugar for 13 months. Then little by little I allowed myself to have something sweet. My first reaction was when I ate Mexican food the first time and ate chips. When my food arrived, I was full. About 1.5 hours later I had my first reaction. As long as I don't eat sweet things or chips...I'm okay. My yogurt has 16 grams of sugar, and I'm allowed 10. If I stay around 10-16, I am fine. The good thing about it is it keeps my honest. When I had my really bad reaction, I had not eaten much, and that contributed to the issue once I introduced the sugar. You are right, many more seem to have this issue.
Those are the pants I wore the day of surgery and the only item of clothing from the old me that I kept. Thank you for the compliment on my hair. My husband has been coloring my hair for over 16 years. I buy Light Mountain Natural Color from Whole Foods. It is a henna/vegetable based product...no chemicals of any kind. The box used to say 100% Henna, now it just says Natural Hair Color.
You look fantastic.
I am sorry you are dealing with RH.I fear RH more then I do the thought of regain.

For me, it really is no big deal. Some people dump on sugar, I sometimes, not always, have a RH episode. And mine are not bad...with the exception of the one last weekend. It was really bad...actually dangerous. But truthfully I needed that. I was a sugar addict...seriously, and that has pulled meback into reality. Truthfully had it not happened, I might be having a real issues with eating sugar, sweets, desserts, etc., and then the regain would follow. As long as I eat healthy foods I am fine. My yogurt even has more sugar than my plan allows, and I do not have any problems. The day I got sick I ate Hot Tamales, the little cinnamon hot sugary candy. They are pure sugar in capsule form. RH is easily managed by eating right. I don't even consider myself as one who has RH because I have eaten lots of sugar at a time and nothing happened. On that day, I had not eaten much, so I really did overload my system with sugar.
Thank you. I do not drive and thus do not get out unless my husband is off and his schedule permits. It has been better since my daughter moved back home after her office was closed. So as I was losing, I did not see very many people. I often wonderf what it was like for those who work and are around people all day. The support must have been great, but I'm sure it had it's downside too. I sincerely appreciate the comment.
