I cant do more than a couple tablespoons of ice cream (real or SF)  I think Im lactose intolerant cause when I do cereal my number 2 is runny and loose and I cramp for a minute.
I usually just do a sliver of cake or pie if i need a sweet fix.... only refreshing thing I can do is ice water...Sigh

Yes, I eat ice cream. Not protein ice cream (I tried a couple of the recipes... yuck). Not the NSA stuff (well, not usually -- have you seen what that stuff looks like if you let a bunch of it melt?!? Ick.). The real stuff. Haagen Dazs Strawberry... about 80% of the time. Pure heaven.

The difference is that pre-op I would eat half of a pint in one sitting. Now I eat about 1/4 to 1/3 C.

I'm in your boat Lora! My surgeon has actually told me that  once my plastics are done for the extra skin, I'll be UNDERWEIGHT..he said as long as it's agreeing with me and I'm not making totally stupid decisions..eat what I want.  I specifically asked about sweets - he said it can't hurt to fix a sugar craving if my body handles it..as long as it's not every day.  2-3 times a week, I have either a peanut butter cup or some yummy chocolate ice cream with chunky peanut butter in it... OR popcorn - I told my surgeon I feel bad when I do that and he smiled n told me I was silly ^_^

I don't think our surgeons expect us to never touch the yummy things but rather expect us to share the package and not wolf down a whole carton!

Gosh I miss ice cream especially since it's been so hot here! It makes me dump big time I tried some SF kind not long ago and ended up in bed for about 45 minutes before having to spend another 15 minutes or so in the bathroom.

Ya'll just eat some for me!! LOL

I have occasionally had skinny cow or bunny sf ice cream, but I'm definitely more into salty than sweet.  Ice cream has never been a big deal for me, and still isn't cuz I had some in the freezer that pretty much dried up before I ate it.  oops.  I went to one of my first dinners with a friend and for dessert I ordered a cheesecake "shooter".  It was a small cheesecake in a shooter--size little glass.  I had 2 small bites...delish and just enough to feel really decadent since I don't do many sweets.  I haven't had to think about desserts or snacks much since I'm not really drawn to them too much.  But when I do have to have a few chips or something sweet, I make it a few bites or 4-5 chips.  I guess it's the same as always...all things in moderation.  It's just much easier to practice now.

Yep! I eat it. And I even eat the full fat, full sugar kind. I figure if I'm going to treat myself I'm not gonna waste my time with any kind of "diet" anything.

My "dirty little secret" though: I only eat it if I really, truly want it, I eat it mindfully, and even though I don't restrict myself to any certain portion size, I rarely (actually I don't think I've ever) eaten more than a few spoonfuls. That small amount leaves me completely satisfied - which I guess is fortunate since I still dump periodically.

For me, putting restrictions on much of anything and certainly forbidding any particular food throws me right back into the "diet mentality" and I simply WILL NOT go there. I'm not on a diet anymore, and with my RnY I never have to be again.=)

God is so, so good.

I eat regular ice cream a couple times a month.  Usually 1/3-1/2c at a time.  Sometimes it's a scoop of vanilla w/ 8 oz diet A&W root beer.  ;)  It's been so hot and I was craving a root beer float!  What can I say? :)

There's a Tasti d Lite location like 3 blocks from our house.  We go through phases where we'll go a couple times a week and then not go for a while.  It's pricey for what it is but it's good and relatively low-guilt.

There are several frozen yogurt places around here -- the pay by the ounce with a billion toppings at the bar -- type place.  They're too good and I tend to overdo it with the pb cups so I try to avoid them like the plague!

For the record, I rarely rarely dump.  I've lost a lot of weight and maintained it for well over a year now.  I'd love to lose more but I think my body is happy with where it's at.  /shrug

I like no sugar added edys moose tracks and also for a different kind of treat Artic Zero is pretty good. I have been having a quarter of my husbands regular ice cream sandwhich everyday lately though so I need to find a good substitute for that. I am going to try skinny cow ice cream sandwhiches.
