Diet Coke was my drug of choice

 I was super super addicted to it. It was my one true love. I would have given up all the amazing foods in the world if it meant I could no longer have diet coke. 

Well I tried it yesterday. First time since surgery.

And it was disgusting.

Tastes evolve post op.  Rival makes a cola SF flavoring to add to the snowcones you make from their brand of snowcone maker. It's at Walmart for around $20.  SF cola and SF cherry is like a cherry coke taste.  DAVE

Mine was diet Pepsi. Every day since I was about 16....

It was hard to kick it because the caffeine was more than I'd imagined (and I don't drink caffeinated coffee).

Now? Took a sip of hubby's one day....Blecccchhhhh!

Agreed, it's horrible now!!!!     If I need something fizzy, Coke Zero is what I go for now.   Can only handle about 3 sips, but those 3 sips are good!

This is good for me to know! That is one thing (well, there are others too) that I was worried about because I LOVE diet pepsi. I was worried I'd crave it after surgery. But if tastes change, maybe that is for the best for me.

 I too was a diet coke addict!  OMGo**** made me so happy.  Especially a fountain diet coke with crushed ice....ahhhhhhh.

But--

I don't even miss it!  Not a bit.  Other things I miss.....but not the diet coke (thank goodness).  I haven't had a sip, but I have no desire.  So that's good enough for me. 

Now, if I could stop dreaming about cake!!

my hubby and I are both diet coke addicts thats all we drink and I mean all. I would drink 1 cup of coffee first thing in the morn. then diet coke till bed. I'm waiting for my surgery and just switched to drinking crystal light which I love. well went out to dinner with dh the other day and he ordered the diet coke and I took a sip omg yuck. I also quit smoking almost 3 mnths ago and took a drag about a month ago and almost threw up. I just can't beleive my 2 favorite things in life are gone and I don't miss them.

Wow, I'm super jealous.  I wi**** tasted gross to me.  Unfortunately I still love it, so I do indulge sparingly.

I love it too. I didn't drink it for a few months, but now I have one or two a week. I can't drink a whole one, though, so I buy those teensy six ounce cans.

I pray  that is the way it is for me after surgery! I sometimes wonder if there is a Dt Coke rehab, or if I should be the founding member!! I drink the stuff like its crack, and if I go a day without it...umm its not pretty! My surgery is the 26th of Aug, and my bday is the 4th..so I have decided that on the 5th, I will start to ween myself off of it...I am going as far as to buy only a 6 pack and having my husband keep them at work so I can only have 1 a day when he comes home! HUH wish me luck!
