Well, it won't hurt you, but the Enzymatic Hydrolyzed Protein Isolate is something we don't really absorb.  Now, whey isolate is listed first, so that means there is more of that than the stuff we don't absorb, which is good.  But you won't get 32 grams of protein from it and you don't really know how much you will get, so I personally wouldn't bother with them.

I have no lans on trying it. Figured that the enzymatic isolate was just another way to say the bad stuff.

What I don't get is why it is beign geared for wls people if we can't use it ya know.

Honestly?  Because WLS folks often have trouble getting enough protein and like the idea of a protein shot and many don't know we don't absorb some types of protein.  It's business.  They want our money and aren't concerned about our health.

The same reason vitamin companies like those that make Optisource and Bariatric Fusion market vitamins to us that don't supply the nutrition we need.  For instance, Optisource tells us they have all the calcium we need in just four chewable tabets a day, but it's calcium carbonate so we can't absorb it.  But people really like the idea of only needing to take four vitamin pills a day and getting everything they need and many don't bother to check the ingredients and make sure it's stuff we can absorb and there is enough of it.  It's about money.

Thats disgusting. I feel really bad for people who don't have a group like this to help them know what to use and what to stay away from. They are doomed to fail and will never know why.

Even worse, they could end up like one of my grad school colleagues who used the protein shots as a primary source of protein for the first 6 months or so... and ended up with a protein deficiency and resulting heart condition that landed her in the hospital and took a VERY long time to recover from.

It makes me angry, too.

I just bought two of these. They are ok, but will not be buying again. Too expensive for not knowing how much of the whey is actually in it. I was so happy when i saw whey listed first but still its not 100% whey.

And since it only has to be at least 50.1% whey isolate, we might only get 16g of protein out of it....
