Glycerine or biscodyl suppository or if really bad fleet enema will do the job.

Can I find those at the drug store?  I don't need a prescription or anything?

They sell the the suppositories and the fleet with no prescription. If you are going to try the baggie/glove thing, I highly recommend the glycerin suppository first.

I give my cat Miralax twice a day everyday. If I don't- I have to help him by pulling and if I can't help him I have to take him to the vet and they knock him out and scoop him out. NOT FUN for him or me- or the vets.

Sorry Kelly!

Oh my gosh!  I've only had that problem with a cat when it ate some yarn or something that it should not have eaten.  Poor kitty.

If it is almost out, as in fully formed, I was under the impression that Mirilax would not work. I always take the maximum dose of Milk of Magnesia. There has been one time that I was absolutely miserable when I did a liquid emema. The combo of milk of mag and the enema worked. I know how painful it can be. I hope you can find the right combo that helps.

Yeah, it's almost out.  I wasn't sure if Mirilax or something similar would work in this case.  I really hate to do an enema.  I am thinking I will try a suppository and see how that works.  Actually, at the moment I am trying to decide if I wanna put some clothes on and go to the all night grocery store in search of suppositories or if I wanna wait 'til morning and send my partner (who is sleeping right now) after them for me.  I kinda don't feel like going out because I feel so bloated and uncomfortable, plus I don't really wanna be up on the toilet all night and I'm not sure how long it would take a suppository to work.  On the other hand, morning seems a long way away when you feel this miserable.

Yeah its no fun. Hes getting old and his kidneys aren't working so well so I also give him IV fluids twice a week. You walk into my kitchen and I have IV bags hanging lol. My other cat is diabetic and gets insulin shots twice a day too.

There is also lactulose which is a stool softener. It works better then Miralax but its only by script and tastes vile. Its like a thick fruity syrup.

U really should get the fleet enema. I also have constipation issues and am on a prescription twice a day with 2 doses of miralax! I always have fleet enemas at hand coz the pills don't always work. The enema will make u go in 5 mins and it won't hurt as the liquid helps soften everything. Sorry if TMI. Miralax takes days to have effect in my experience. It has to be taken regularly for it to work! Good luck!
