hate to ask this, TMI

I'm sure everyone wants to see another post about constipation, but I can't help it.  I need to know what is the best thing to use for really bad constipation.  And um, how can I say this without being too graphic and gross?  This is only the second time I've been constipated since my surgery.  And last time, I was able to, um, work it out without any kind of intervention in about a day.  This time, though, I've been unable to go since Sunday.  And I really need to go.  I don't need a stool softener or something like that, I need something to, um, help me go when it's almost out but just can't quite make it.  I'm sorry, I know that's gross.  But I am seriously uncomfortable here.

I am having a similar problem. It is beyond painful for me right now to the point if tears. Also tmi, but i took a wad of tp and just grabbed what I would to pull it out. Desperate times call for desperate measures!

I thought of doing that.  But then I discovered I am out of latex gloves (I use them for cleaning and stuff) and I didn't think I could just get it with toilet paper.  I spent a LOT of time in the bathroom today with no relief.

Have you tried miralax. You can buy it in powder packets You pour it in your drink (It has no taste). You can use it daily. I did not go for 9 days and it worked the day I took it

I haven't tried anything yet.  I gotta go to the store in the morning and buy something because apparently this is not gonna resolve on its own.  Sounds like Mirilax is a good option.

What helped me when it got that bad (2x since surgery) was a LOT of water and the max dose of Miralax. It really worked. I couldn't even make mine work itself out with the fleet enemas - they just HURT.

Treat it from the end where the problem exists!  Sounds like you and Fleet need to get real close.

Do you drink coffee at all?  When I have had that problem in the past, a cup of hot, fully caffeinated coffee usually did the trick.

But if it is as bad as it sounds, manual extraction might be necessary - maybe you could use plastic wrap or a baggie as a substitute for the latex gloves?  If you have any lube in the house, that might help too.

I did try some coffee.  It made me feel like it was gonna work, but nothing ended up happening.

I thought about using a baggie instead of a glove.  Maybe I'll do that.  Geez, how fun is this?!

Isn't it hilarious how we talk about the most intimate problems on this public forum??!!  I'm so glad
I use an alias!!!

A suppository which lubes the lower bowel might help break the logjam.

Good luck, Kid.
