Surery 7/21/11 and feeling GREAT!!
I'm almost afraid to tell anyone but I feel great!! My surgery was last Thursday and I am feeling fantastic!! I'm able to walk (a little hunch backed) without much pain. I'm sore but that's to be expected, I just had a major surgery!! My bruises on my arms hurt a bit and my back is sore. But you know what? I feel GREAT! I have such hope for my future and I am seriously looking forward to life!!! Can't wait to get my clearance for working out so I can get busy. For right now, I'm just walking, sipping, and enjoying my new recliner :)
Thanks for all your well wishes!
Ginger
P.S. I wrote a post about the "dreaded drain" well, hey that wasn't even that bad. Not painful.... just an odd feeling when they removed it. So all you "pre-ops" out there...... you CAN do this!!!

Yeah!!!! Way to go! So glad to hear you are doing well! Keep it up!
I too felt great since surgery... don't be afraid to tell others you feel great. It was posts like this pre op that helped me to get in the mindset that "I can do this!" Its great for people considering the surgery to read about the positive experiences too!
Take things one day at a time, and you will be great!
So happy for you!

I had the same hesitations right after surgery last week when my parents and sister came by the hospital. It was hard explaining to someone, even myself at times, that I really didn't feel all that bad. I honestly had more pain/discomfort from not being able to find a comfy spot in the hospital bed than I did from the surgical pain itself. Sure, I've been going through some of the waves of discomfort as the gas moves around and such in the days following, but it has been going well so far. I think sharing those thoughts is a good thing, as long as we realize that there are probably going to be at least a few rough days in the future at some point.
I too had mine on on the 21st and if I'm just sitting on the couch and typing, I have no pain. I don't feel like I'm out of the woods yet of course, but I'm amazed at my progress.
Keisha, don't worry honey - you'll do great. I can say I had an expectation to do awesome and had LOTS of prayers and support, and that's exactly how it went!
