Lately I've been getting really really bad headaches. I never had these bad headaches before surgery. I'm drinking enough water and getting in my vitamins and protein. My headaches are so bad sometimes its even hard to see. Has anyone else had these problems? Tylenol doesn't really help. When I have a headache I try to drink as much water as possible but that doesn't help either. Ugh I go to bed with a headache and wake up with one.

Sounds like my migraines - I have had them for years, and although they used to come on with "warning signs", I no longer get the warning signs, and just get slammed with the headaches, nausea and inability to speak sometimes.... Tylenol doesnt touch them, and I am worried about what I can do for them after surgery.... Right now, I take Excedrine Migraine, but dont think I can take that after surgery.

If you haven't had headaches prior to surgery and haven't had labs done, get them done.  Get printed lab reports, do not rely on a phone call. Some insurance companies offer an online was to review lab reports too.  If you did not have the headache issue before surgery and have them now, there is a chance that you vitamin levels may need adjusting.  That said, I've had horrible headaches for close to 15 years now, and that includes 10 years pre op.  I monitor my labs closely and adjust vitamins as needed.   Suggested levels of B12 are 900-1000 and vitamin D at 80-90.  You'll have to use a sublingual B12 to get those levels, and I'd start with 1000mcg per day.  With vitamin D, you'll need a dry D3 to get your numbers up.  Script D will NOT WORK, as I did that the first 6 months post op with only a 6 point rise in my D levels.  I'd suggest you start with 10k to 25k IU daily of the dry D3.  You likely won't find any D3 above 5K locally. I order from vitalady.com and my tests indicate I need several of the 50K per week of the dry D3. DAVE
