Today I was excited and hungry for my chicken marsala that I got from the deli at the grocery store and I at about half of it and then I realized it had only been about 5 minutes since I started eating. The last few bites immediatly came back up.

For so long I could only eat a few things and I didn't enjoy any of them. Now I can eat more and stuff I actually like and then I realize I eat way too fast. It needs to take 20 minutes to eat a meal. I don't need to rush!! It's almost like if I don't eat fast it will all be gone and I will have none. I know that doesn't really make sense.

I just need to SLOW down.

The chicken was SO good though. Omg.

Happens to me too. Or that one bite too many (I don't yet get a full feeling, so it's hard to gauge). I haven't found much that I look forward to eating yet.  I'm glad you have ;)

I am curious about your timeframe for eating...my plan requires 30-60 minutes (with heavy emphasis on 60 minutes).  Is 20 minutes your plan requirement?

How could you possibly make the small amounts we're supposed to eat last for a whole hour?  I can eat about a cup of food now and even when I go really slow, it doesn't take that long to eat it.  Which I guess is a good thing, because if it did take me that long, I'd be spending five or six hours a day just eating.  It would be hard to get stuff done.  It would also be hard to get my liquids in.  If I don't drink with meals or for 30 minutes afterward, that would be about nine hours a day I could not drink.  If I slept for eight hours, I would only have seven hours to get all my liquids in.

I have been struggling with this since going back to work this week! I just try to take my time but it sucks because I only have 30 minutes for lunch! I have to work extra hard to take my meals to 30 minutes! I just know that when I eat too fast I get sick just as fast!! It's hard but it is part of what we signed up for! Keep trying and keep up the good work!

You need to make sure you put the fork down and chew up to the middle of the alphabet.  Our bariatric coordinator says to count to 20 to 25 or say the alphabet at least 1/2 way

You know Kelly, I have been thinking about that a lot lately. I am eating 1/4 of food or less. Seriously how am I soupossed to make that last a 1/2 hour? I do put my fork or spoons down after each bite, but if I'm stuffed after 3 bites I'm not going to keep eating right?
