If I'm not allowed to have steak...do you think that includes lamb??
You have trouble with so many foods, I would not risk new foods now that you have finally got stable and feel good.
I just read what I wrote and it sounds so much like what I would say to a close friend in person, but I see you on here so much and have followed your ups and downs I guess it is becoming natural to respond to you like a would one of my good friends who I know eveything about! So funny!

We didn't have any limits on steak or any other protein. Once one was allowed, they all were. Steak doesn't seem any different than pork steaks or chicken breast. We were told to take small bites, chew it to pieces and see what happens. I am not saying to not follow your Drs plan, I just am saying I don't see a difference in some of those things.

Dense proteins can cause issues with your digestive system. You'll likely not feel well for an hour or so after eating a steak, if you're like most post ops. Even at 5 years post op, I rarely try steak, due to the upset digestive feeling after eating it. I do far better with roasts that have been cooked in pressure cooker or pot roast or ground meat vs a steak. I'd highly recommend you have some papaya enzyme tabs handy if you try fibrous proteins too early. I often pop 3 of these after any meal where I have that "heavy feeling" after the meal. It helps to break down the proteins. You might be better to follow your surgeon's advice--it's based a lot on the experience of previous patients who have had issues. Each pateint is a little different. You may have no problem, or you may be in bed for an hour trying to feel well after eating. DAVE

Steak is a hard meat to digest I cant even imagine having it so soon after surgery. I am just getting used to digesting chicken let along lamb or steak. I dont even eat pork so I cant given an opinion on it.
We both have the same Doctor so talk to him about it. He will probably say to wait as well as Rachel..

I think you should wait on Lamb as well. I eat steak and don't have that heavy feeling or anything. But with pork I get the kill me now feeling. So since you are in a good place don't pu****
