I thought this was interesting. I've eaten a few of these pre-surgery and didn't even think about the calories.

Sad to admit, I'm not sure I'd ever be visiting Cheescake Factory again. Not when we have lots of non-chain, healthier restaurants in this area!
BTW, I started using MyFitnessPal to log my foods - I had 800 cal today! Guess I've been eating more than I thought I was.....

Yeah, gonna stop the milk - just too many calories! And obviously I'm not having a problem getting protein in. I got 91g today!

That was actually my favorite cheesecake pre-op. I remember when it came out and I thought it was the most amazing creation in the world. Haha.

I read the article and yes those fried cheese sandwich and red velvet cheesecake are pretty bad....but I have seen much worse.

I as at Claim Jumper the other day with my teenage boys (they have the hugest portions on the planet) and I looked up the calories for what they each ordered.  Brett got the Widow maker Burger and it was 1400 just for the Burger, not the fried and 4 sodas he drank.  John got the beef rib dinner with a ridiculous 2253 calories!!!  That also is with out the salad he started with the the 3 sodas he drank.   The fat in the rib dinner was 78 grams!!

It's nuts cause I ate that beef dinner quite a few times in my pre op days....and I now know exactly why I needed an RNY LOL

I am gunna be the bad guy here. Majority of restuarants KNOW that people are not really paying attention to what they are putting in their mouths so they load em down with all the extra JUNK. Their view is, as long as it looks and tastes good people will keep coming back.
I really started paying attention to what DH and I were eating when he ended up with PAD and had to get DOUBLE bypasses on both legs. I was amazed at how much CRAP we were eating. One of our local asian take-out places has now started giving out nutrtion onfo on their dishes. They will mark the ones high in fat, high in sodium, and high in all the other stuff that makes food taste how it does. Amazingly the best item that I ADORE on their menu is the Hot and Sour soup- HIGH in protein AND SODIUM. Yes I still get it but I will halve it and save some for later. Unhealthy choice but it is my one sinful thing that I enjoy. I cut out the sugars, caffiene, alcohol, cigarettes, and all the other sutff that was my "friend" yet my worst enemy.

I agree that people need to be more aware what they are putting in their bodies, BUT the food industry also needs to be held accountable for the crap they are using. Too bad the US doesnt allow RAW bars.
