Do any of you eat lunchables? Sometimes I eat half of one as an on the go type of thing. The whole grain crackers with turkey and chedder. There is also a pretty good one with grilled rottisserie chicken and multigrain crackers and veggie cream cheese spread.

I found it better to make my own. Such better meats when I go to the deli and buy good meat, and good healthy breads etc. I hate lunchables.

I am post op right now from revision but when I had my LB I would smoke a whole chicken on Sundays and debone it. Whenever I had to go on the run I would grab a couple pieces and a  couple whole grain crackers. Saves alot of money too. I could get a whole chicken on sale for 3-4 bucks and it lasted a whole week.

It would be a waste of money for me. I can't eat carbs like crackers yet. that doesn't happen until November when I"m 6 months out.

I think they're too processed. At least the "Classic" lunchable is.
There are ones that are a little better, like the rottisserie chicken ones you said, but even those have ingredient lists a mile long and sodium up the wah-zoo!

But, that being said .... Yes, I would eat one if I didn't have another option. They're YUMMY of course! lol
But if there's something else available or if I'm able to make my own, I'd prefer that.

I wish I could eat those right now.  But crackers, breat, etc. aren't allowed on my diet until month seven and even then only one small serving a day.  Sounds like complex carbs are pretty much off my plate for the rest of my life except for very small amounts near my goal weight.

You do know that whole grains and veggies are complex carbs, right...?  So, no, complex carbs should absolutely NOT be out of your diet forever "except for very small amounts".  Even simple carbs in the form of fruits should not be completely out.  Your body needs SOME carbs because there are nutrients in the fruits, vegetables, and grains that you cannot get from protein alone (and you will need the fiber from them as well).

What you SHOULD limit or eliminate are the "white carbs" (non-whole-grain breads, processed flour pasta, white rice, processed sugar, etc.).

All pastas, potatoes, rice, grains, etc (complex carbs) are not allowed on my diet until stage six which starts in month 7.  Even then it is limited to only one serving per day.  According to my nut, complex carbs mainly convert to fat and are actually not healthy.  Most veggies except for potatoes, peas, corn, etc. are actually not complex carbs.  They are simple carbs which your body does need.  It isn't so much the carbs you want to avoid, it's the complex carbs that essentially provide you little nutrition but convert to sugar/fat in your body that you want to avoid.  I look at it this way.  Complex carbs (including whole grain and other crackers) are one of the bad choices I made frequently before I had surgery.  I'm not going back to those bad choices again.
