Out with the old!!!

Last night I watched Extreme Body Makeover.  I cried through the whole show.  That poor girl struggled so hard but she was determined to make a new life for her and her family.  She motivated me.

At 10 pm, I was in my closet.  I bagged up every shirt and pairs of pants that are too big now.  It's funny how I never had anything to wear before but that was alot of crap!   I called a friend...yes at 10 pm...and asked her if she wanted them so I took them to her house.  She was in the bed so I left them on the porch.  It felt like giving up a security blanket that I've been holding on to for years!

It was kind of sad walking in there this morning and it was all gone but I felt almost a relief.  I never plan on going there again and I don't want it there as a cushion to catch me if I fall.  This time I will get my self up and get back on the wagon.

It was liberating!!  There is no going back.  Granted I'm only down a few sizes (22/24 - 16/18) but it's enough that I won't put them back on.  I feel great.  When you can give away that first bunch of clothes, it's wonderful!

Forget a "like" button... we need a "love" button... I watched the show too and I agree it was so inspiring... I have been lazy at the workouts but I have made a vow to get to it regardless the excuses I have not to... even if it is just running up and down my stairs... and my closet will get a good cleaning out tonight... bye bye crutch clothes!... I hope you have a fabulous day :)

I know...I brought my clothes today to go to the gym today.  I feel like crap with a summer cold and sore throat but no more excuses.  If that girl can work her a** off in a year and lose 206 lbs, then I can surely take the tool I have and put some effort into it and get off this 59 lbs I have to go.  Thank you and have a great day also!!!

I did this every month from day 1!  I couldn't stand to wear clothes that didn't fit properly, and I always had someone that truly needed whatever size I was coming out of.  Over 2 years later, I've never regretted getting rid of the bigger clothes.  Now the shoes....that's a different story...it broke my heart to part with some of my favorite shoes....but now I've build quite a nice collection of gorgeous high heels....and I'm eyeing a pair of red patent Mary Janes at Macys that go on sale tomorrow I think!!

It really keeps you honest too....when you KNOW the only thing you'll be able to wear is exercise pants if you eat too much of the good stuff!!

Congrats on your "cleansing"!!!  I'll bet you made your friend very happy.

She was very proud of them. And since you mentioned shoes, I never expected my shoes to not fit but these I have on today are flopping.  LOL  Even my feet are shrinking.

Wohooo!!  Way to go!

I just filled 2 garbage bags over the weekend for the first time.  My hubby begged me to get rid of the clothes that were hanging off my body.  I hadn't realized they were that bad,  but the only place my pants were touching my body was around the waist (that I rolled down 3 times).  lol.....

Such a liberating feeling!

It was liberating to get rid of the too big clothes.  I kept one pair of pants and still take them out occassionally to remind myself of where I've come from.

Your friend must be grateful you helped her by giving her your clothes.  This is ONLY the beginning for you believe me you'll be purging your closet often.
