How ARE you doing it??
It doesn't matter what they think, but I also don't want to give them any reason to feel like they have the RIGHT to judge my decision. I don't know what they had for breakfast that morning and they don't need to know that I had surgery. When people hear that they tend to think of it as a license to pass judgment, good or bad. Better to just keep it to yourself when the person is of no account to you and your life.
I'm with you on this. I don't care what others think. Some people have no lives of their own and will talk about people no matter what. We cannot control other people. My "revenge" is living well!!

I didn't even tell my immediate famliy, mostly because i knew they would not understand it and would try to talk me out of it and i have this mental thing about disapointing them,,but i never intended to tell anyone about my surgery mostly because i don't want to be held under a microscope with folks asking how much weight have i lost today, did you loose any weight this week,or the most iritating question "are you sure you should be eating that",,ugh i hate that one,,, to me it's such a personal journey ya know ,,i got my body here i'll get it out sort of thing,,,but one thing i do know,, it was the right dicision for me,,the best thing i have ever done for myself actually,,
I agree completely. I do not want to be under a microscope. Even with the people that I have told, I feel they are watching me. They wouldn't say anything I don't think, but when we go out to lunch usually the first question is "What are you having?". This journey is different for everyone. Everyone will handle their situations differently. I would not change my decision for anything!

I don't have a problem with people not telling others about their surgery (I chose to be honest because people are not stupid and were going to figure it out when I lost over 175 pounds, anyway) BUT I would strongly encourage you NOT to tell people you are starving yourself. There are already SO many unhealthy diets out there and people are already so quick to try fad diets... and I do not think that we -- who are "technically" starving oursleves but are doing so UNDER A DOCTOR'S SUPERVISION -- should be contributing to the perception that starving yourself is a GOOD way to lose weight... and I fear that your reply will do just that.
