How ARE you doing it??
Today, I had to make my Wednesday trip through the plant. Maybe it's what I have on...actually looks like I have a waist now...but I was stopped 4 times about how nice I looked. A couple of the ladies commented on the weight loss. The question each time was "How are you doing it?" Almost everyone in the office here knows what I had done, but I didn't feel the need to tell people that I barely know out there how I was doing it. Mostly I told them that I was starving or just working on it really hard...neither of which is a lie. Technically, we are starving our bodies and it is really hard work. I'm not ashamed of it but I just choose to not tell the nosey cleaning lady about it. Gossip out there runs crazy....it's personal and I prefer just my friends know. It sure did make my day though to know people are noticing!

How can you keep it from people, if they are asking they probably need to lose too. Let them know you found the answer!!!! I have not made any formal announcement but if someone asks I tell them. And I have to hold myself back from telling every heavy person I see that I know how they can change their lives. LOL

You say that but, when you are put in the situation over and over again of people asking how you lost so much weight and you just say "surgery" you get so many different responses and some of them really hurt your feelings.
Like I had to get an xray done and it came up that I have recently lost 40lbs and the tech asked how I did it, she seemed so impressed with me. Once I told her I had surgery her whole attitude changed, like I had cheated or something. I wanted to argue with her and demand that she understand that this was not an easy fix, but why? Who is she to me? I will never see her again, so who cares what she thinks. I should have just said diet and exercise, because really that IS how I have lost this weight.

You very correct...the immediate perception is "Oh well anyone could do that." We have been given a great took but it is not easy to use it. It's very demanding, it's very hard, and it's very emotional. It is actually the ultimate diet. There is NO cheating. You can't take a day off and then back on the wagon.

That is EXACTLY why I haven't told people outside of my immediate friends and family. If I told just ONE person out there, it would be all over the place about how the girl in the front office was too lazy to do it the hard way. Just the way it is around here.
