I've heard of ummm ..... rings that can sort of control the level of penetration.  Might be an option. 

 I haven't had sex that much since the surgery because of me not feeling well all the time but now that I have been feeling better we have been more and for me it does hurt. I can tell it is because I don't have as much padding. It is getting better the more we do it but I can still tell a difference. It isn't only you!

ditto to what others have said... NEVER had this problem when I was big.. but now it seems that BF can get MUCH deeper than before and hits my cervix....

Try different positions. Some allow deeper penetration than others.
