Food Find: Aldi's Turkey Snack Sticks--YUM!

If they discontinue these I'm going off! If you like slim jims (thinking of folks here who like Ostrim), these are so good! Made by Simms. Smaller than an Ostrim and not individually wrapped, but significantly cheaper too at 8oz. for 3 bucks (about 14 sticky guys) compared to Ostrim's 15oz for 13.99 plus shipping on Netrition--possibly cheaper elsewhere, but I always use Netrition so that is what I'm comparing it to. Honestly, a whole Ostrim can get a little sickening to me. This is just a nice little snack when I need to grab and go.

Stats:

Calories: 45
Protein: 4 g
Fat: 3g
Sat fat 1g
Sodium 160 (surprised it wasn't higher)
Less than 1 carb
No fiber
No sugar

Granted, going ounce for ounce against Ostrim, these are higher in calories and fat, and lower in protein, but for my purpose they are perfect and the taste, IMHO, is far superior and more authentically beef stick.

Enjoy!

There's an Aldi's in the town next to me.  I'll have to check it out and try some of the turkey sticks because I LOVE Slim Jim's.

Maaaan…I’m afraid to love anything at Aldi. Stuff will disappear on you quick! Like my beloved wraps (just like Flatouts for a fraction of the price). Hmph. AND they made their fat free whippage to lowfat whippage. And thought I would not notice.

I have to look and see if my Aldi has them. I’ve taken to buying good finds in bulk.
