Doctoring up vanilla shakes

Now that I have found a good powder that I like I want to figure out different things to do with it. What are some things you all add to vanilla shakes?

I hear people adding Crystal light, sf pudding, sf jello, sf Flavored syrup, fresh, frozen, or canned fruit.

S/F pudding, S/F jello, S/F syrups, frozen fruit.  Vanilla is my favorite protein because it's so versatile.

I have some sf cheesecake pudding powder. I think I'll try that next.

First I make it with 1/2 milk, 1/2 water so it is a little richer and I make this drink hot, so I warm the milk/water combo. I mix the vanilla powder in a separate large mug with a little water to make it like pancake batter. Then after I've added my warm milk to the protein powder, I'll add some decaf instant coffee or espresso, some sf DaVinci caramel syrup and mix it like crazy. I drink this often and love it! It is very similar to a caramel macchiatto. I'm a huge fan of hot drinks in the morning, so I will also add sugar free international coffee flavors like their vanilla latte or something similar also and that makes for a yummy drink.

I've heard of people doing orange crystal light for a dreamsicle sort of flavor. Check out Bariatric Foodie or The World According to Eggface. Tons of ways to make the vanilla. I've even had a peanut butter and bacon smoothie with vanilla. Surprisingly good.

Good luck. Glad you found a powder you like!

I want a hot protein shake too first thing in the morning.  My pouch is very tight in the a.m. I can't eat anything for about 3 hours after I wake up.  A hot shake and coffee is all I can get in in the morning.

Yep--2-1/2 years later and that is my morning routine 99% of the time. Don't even let me try plain cold water in the morning...

Glad I'm not alone!!

Peanut and bacon together or separate? Could you elaborate a little on these, these sound like my kind of flavors.

It was pb2 (the powdered peanut butter), vanilla protein, and some real bacon bacon bits sprinkled on the whipped cream I put on top. I made it into a frozen shake. I love sweet and salty, so it really hit the spot. Weird but good!!
