Has anyone tried medicinal liquid protein? Do we absorb it? Anything at all you can tell me about it would be appreciated.

I believe its mostly collagen protein, which we don't absorb. I tried one of those once and I wanted to hurl. Blech!

Are you talking protein shots??  If so, my knowledge is that they are a collagen protein and for us does not contain the essential amino acides we need.

It IS collagen protein (which is a pretty crappy form of protein in and of itself), but I do not know whether or not it has all the necessary amino acids to allow you to absorb any of it. The following website has the amino acid profile, though, if osmeone else is mroe knowledgable about it:
www.llorenspharm.com/proteinex_liq.html

I do know, however, that everyone I have ever talked to who tried it thought it tasted absolutely hideous!

My Nutritionist said no because of the collagen.
