poll about multivitamins

I take the chew-able centrum right now. I'm seriously considering the swallowable ones. Seriously if we can take the calcium citrate tablets, then why not a multivitamin. I'm 6 months post op now, so I'm allowed to go all solids for my medications. They prefer chew-able vitamins because they absorb better. But many of us in my surgeon's office have changed over to swallow pills.

I've looked but never found any kind of scientific evidence or study that shows chewables are absorbed better.  In addition, the ASMBS says vitamins we swallow are fine.  When you say chewables absorb better, is that just what your doc told you or are you basing that on something scientific?  And if it's just what your doc told you, do you know what he's basing it on?  If there is some sort of research that shows chewables are absorbed better, I'd really like to see it.

Bariatric Advantage Chewable Multi w/extra ADEK.  The one I take is foot odor flavored (I think they call it "Tropical"), and I can't wait to finish them so that I can move onto a generic version of Centrum Silver non-chewables. I'm moving away from all BA products. Already threw 45$ away by dumping 3 months worth of their chewable calcium, so I'm trying to gag my way through the multi, iron and b12.

I started with the Bariatric Advantage. Switched to Centrum chewables. My NUT told me this was fine as was Flintstones. The "bariatric" ones are just too expensive IMHO.

Two Centrum chewables everyday. One after breakfast and the other after dinner.

we were told to take the BA calcium chewables, multi chewables, sublingual iron and b12. BUT, I hated the calcium so much (chalk dust) that I eventually developed an aversion to vitamins altogether and stopped taking anything. Now I'm back on everything BA EXCEPT the damn calcium, those are not fit for human consumption!! I'm taking calcium citrate petites instead. I take other pills that I swallow and I know my body is absorbing it because they put me to sleep so I dont see why my body wouldnt treat the calcium the same?

**hahah, foot odor flavor LOL**

Edit to add:

I also supplement with 2 calcium chews, dry d3, and sub b12.  I think I am going to start taking biotin as well.
