How often should we get labs done?

I'm 4 months out and I had my first set of labs done at 2 months and all was good. When should I have my next labwork done?

each surgeon varies,  but I think mine were at 3 months, 9 months, 15 months then every year after that.  I would have to look to be sure (and need to!) but it is in the handouts I got from my surgeon

I don't think the ASMBS has any guidelines about this.  My personal opinion is 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months the first year, then every six months for life.  I think most doc do them every three months the first year, but after that many recommend just once a year.  I don't think that's enough.  Stuff can change way too much in a whole year.

I just went for my 2 week postop and they didn't mention any labs. I go back in three months, so I am guessing I will have some done then.

You might wanna ask them to order labs for you before that three month appt so you can discuss your results at the appt.  Just a thought.
