Random Poll o' the Week: What's in a name?

Koko M.
on 7/6/11 4:34 am - Albany, CA
1. Koret
2. My mother claims to have no memory of choosing that name, and blames the heavy drugs used during birth in 1964.
3. And if you thought that Lynn was a common last name...  Marie.

But every female in my family for three generations has that same middle name, in tribute to a long-gone female ancestor who immigrated to California around the turn of the century.

1. Cyndi
2. They were going to name me Toni Marie and my sister went to school with someone with that name that she didn't like and threatened to run away if they named me that (later named her daughter Tina Marie and now loves the name Toni Marie) - My aunt mentioned Cynthia and they liked it - so that's who I am. I was "Cindy" until 6th grade when I decided that it should be "Cyndi" instead and it stuck.
3. Mae (after my grandmother and aunt)
4. Not happenin'.

1.  Not in my screen name but I do have my real name in my signature.  ~ Dana
2)  My mom named me in the hospital.  She was wanting a boy (already had a girl) and had I been a boy I would have been named Shannon.  The nurse on duty when I was born was Dana and my Mom liked it so that's how I got my first name.
3)  Elizabeth.  Lynn is a VERY popular middle name in my family.
4)  123456789

Edit:  Oops, I had my first name in my signature line at one time, LOL, just noticed it isn't there any more.

1. Debbie
2. After Debbie Reynolds, naturally (it was the mid 1950's)
3. Kaye. Pretty common also (like Lynn and Marie. Maybe Mom thought the "e" made it distinctive.)
4. You could have it if it would do you much good.

Vicki E.

1. My first name is Vicki.....yes that is with an i, not an ie or y.  Which seems to be the common spellings.  Everyone spells my first name wrong
2.  I am not sure why they picked Vicki.  My mom says they were all set to name me Krista, but my dad came up with Vicki.  It also has to do with my sister's name being Valerie.
3.  And yes may middle name is Lynn.
