Pure Protein.  I eat them all the time and they've never made me feel weird before.

Hey Kelly , glad you are back!

I have heard of Myoclonic seizures where the body shakes and you are aware of what is going on. Might want to look into that.

Myoclonic seizures only last seconds and are generally described as "jerks", you can be alert during simple partial seizures but they tend to only occur in 1 muscle group like an arm or the face. Have you started any new meds? Certain meds can cause rhythmic muscle contractions. Also hypocalcemia causes tetany otherwise known as deep muscle contractions.

It was definitely all muscle groups, or at least both arms and both legs.  I'm not sure about my face.

I did start a new med about a week ago, nortriptyline.  I looked it up online and read that seizures are a "rare but serious" side effect.

Sounds like maybe you need to talk to your psychiatrist about the nortriptyline.  Seizures (and  nightmares, BTW) are potential side effects of all tricyclic antidepressants...

Sounds like a scary episode.  I'm glad you were not alone at the time.

I have an appointment with him Thursday.  I was worried about nightmares but have actually not had any since starting the nortriptyline.  I didn't take it last night though because I was afraid it might have been the cause of this seizure or whatever it was.  I'm not sure if I want to take it again before talking to my psychiatrist or not.  It was really scary, although I think it might have scared my sister more than it scared me.  She wanted to call 911.

My son is epileptic and I have never heard or seen a seizure where a person stays standing the way you discribed it. But our neuro always says you just never know how a seizure is going to present itself in someone. I am glad you are ok and felt fine afterwards.

Let us know what your doc says.
