Great Weekend...but what a challenge!!

First of all, my daughter's VBS program.  Afterwards, there was a homemade ice cream social.  That was tough.  Absolutely nothing there that I could eat.

Secondly, my husband's workplace family day.  Swimming, water slides, horse riding, and lots of food.  Cookies, homemade ice cream (again), but I had a hamburger patty w/ cheese and that was it.  I was proud of myself.

Third and final....a trip to Hobby Lobby yesterday that ended up with the kids wanting ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery.  Now for anyone that has been there, they have 1 type of sugar free yogurt.  Wouldnt you know that they were out.  So....the kids get there stuff and I sat there and watched them eat.  I tried a very very small bite of Emily's vanilla and I felt sick.  It was so sweet.

Overall, I feel like I did great on food this weekend.  The surgery is just the beginning though.  Every day presents more challenges.  Unfortunately, I don't live in a bubble and this will continue, but I feel my mental ability to handle it improves every day!

Congrats on dealing with a challenging weekend!

I find that carrying one of my favorite protein bars in my purse helps me deal when everyone is having a treat.  You might want to pack your own "treat" for outings.

Thanks...wish I had done that and I will in the future.  We are going to a pig roasting this weekend at the same house so I will be taking more with me.

Congrats on your weekend!  The weekends are the 'hardest' for me because they tend to be more unstructured.  You end up running errands, being out and about, and all of a sudden you realize you are at the 'mercy' of food that is available on the run.

On a completely side note...your Hobby Lobbys are open on Sunday??  If so, LUCKY!  The ones in Texas are closed on Sunday and it seems thats ALWAYS the day I have time to actually go.  Its very frustrating.

Actually, no it was not.  I had forgotten it was closed.  We drove an hour to it and got there and it hit me like a lightning bolt when I pulled into the parking lot!  LOL

Hi I had the same thing this weekend...lots of cookouts and two birthday parties! Holy Tempting!!!
But, I brought w/me almonds....protein bars...soynuts (these are my favorite)  and i lunchbox a freezer pack and put in some bbq chicken from the deli and some munster (can't spell) cheese sliced thin and rolled them up. I also brought a greek yogert and added some strawberry protein powder to it and had that while everyone had cake.  So not the same, but I'm going on almost 4 weeks w/no weight loss for some reason so I am really being good.
