I'm an x-ray Tech and where I work we skip the crystals all together for WLS pts. Just refuse them. Also Barium does not "disolve" in water it "suspends" in water. That is why it is constipating, you need to drink drink drink to keep it moving. I always tell my patiens at least a gallon of water the day following thier exam.
