Stuff to know about iron

If it's not about size, I can't imagine why.  It shouldn't be about cost, vitamin C is cheap.

If you email them, let me know what they say.  Maybe I'll email them too.  Maybe if enough people email them, they'll change.

For anyone who takes the Celebrate chewable iron, pay particular attention to the LACK of vitamin C in them.  They make a big deal out of the presence of the C, but it is quite small (60mg in the 30mg iron chewables)!  I don't have to take iron daily, but was so annoyed to see how little Vitamin C is in it that I refuse to buy it again once the current bottle is gone.

This once again demonstrates that these companies are NOT truly looking out for your health... they are a company that makes vitamins that they market to WLS people in order to make money...

Edited to add:  the Celebrate chewable iron is also ferrous fumarate (they don't constipate me but, as I said, I don't have to take them daily)

Another poster on this forum, a few posts above yours, asks whether Prilosec can be taken with iron. She claims PRILOSEC and iron cannot be taken together, as the iron intake will suffer. Any documentation on this? Dave

Dave,

It is true that when taking iron you should not take prevacid or prilosec together.  Antacids can hinder absorption in a normal person.  I just recently was googling iron infusions and read this from several doctors.

I had been taking prevacid and iron together and my numbers were staying stable but not increasing like they should.  Ended up having infusions.

Now I am taking the iron and prevacid seperately.
