Did you hear back from your surgeons office?

I did and the nurse said it sounded like I was developing a stricture.  He wanted to go ahead and schedule an EGD but hard-headed me said that I wanted to give it another day or so to make sure that's what it was.  Well, I ate dinner last night and it went down ok but I only ate a few bites and got that majorly full feeling and stopped.  Lunch today has already had me in the restroom once and I feel like I'm gonna have to go back....SO...guess I will be calling today to schedule that EGD.

I feel for you! I had a rough weekend, did liquids all day Sunday and Monday. Talked to the doctors office this morning and they told me to slowly try foods, just in case my pouch was just cranky. So far so good, but I have only had yogurt and some deli sliced roast beef. I may just be a day behind you in that phone call.

Ughhh....My doctor's office just called and I will be having it done sometime tomorrow.  They are waiting on the lab to call back with the schedule so they can squeeze me in.  My surgeon will actually be doing it.  Can't wait to fix this.

Hi Tonya,

I am currently going through what is probably a stricture. I go in Wed morning to have the scope. I am now at the point where most liquids are coming back up. Ugh. But when it started about a week ago, I felt like I couldn't drink after I ate. The food just sat there. When I finally did drink, I vomited. I am a revision from band too. Maybe we are more prone to this.

Hope your surgeon gets you in quickly. This week has been miserable for me.

Hi there... I had a stricture a few weeks out.... I started feeling like everything I ate or drank just got stuck, as you described, and I was nauseous a lot.  I had an endoscopy, the doctor stretched the stricture open and VOILA!  No more problem.  It's uncomfortable but easy to fix, so don't worry.  It will get better!

I had a stricture at almost 3 months out.
I was on vacation & didn't contact my doctor until I got home.
I was able to drink my protein and some hot tea but didn't eat for 2 weeks.
Saw my surgeon on Wednesday had the stricture fixed on Friday & I'm fine.
Don't wait.
Call your doctor & get it fixed.
You will feel better almost immediately.

I also had a stricture, And it sounds like you have the same symptoms as me. I was not hungry AT ALL. i couldnt force myself to eat. I had the over full feeling for 4 days before i called and my DR fixed mine the very next morning. Unitl your DR calls you back I would stay on clear liquids, you dont want to irritate your pouch any more that it already is if you do have a stricture.
I wish you the best.
