Wanna vent some more

In my experience, psych hospitals are for one thing: to monitor a suicidal patient.  So, no, I don't think it's for you.  It wasn't what I needed when I was sent.  I do not understand the mental health issues in this country!  How does one get thru life without being in suicidal crisis if they cannot get the help they need in a timely fashion!

I agree... unless you are actively suicidal, a psych ward isn't going to help (and may make things worse based on the things you outlined).  I do hope your psychiatrist can make a phone call to someone and get you in to see someone.  (I know that sometimes we do things the other way around... if a counselor knows a psychiatrist, sometimes we can speed up the process of getting someone who is having a very hard time in to see the psychiatrist.)

I think it's great that you know you have things available that offer some comfort... but sometimes it just isn't enough.  I know that I have had times where it just felt like I would explode if I couldn't tell someone about what was going on inside me.

I can hear the pain in your words that you feel like you are reaching out for help and no one is listening.  I hope you can find someone soon.  I wish I had something useful to suggest.

Sometimes just talking to a counselor is what we need! I'm like you, I don't think a hospital would be a good place for me as everything that improves my condition is at home! My therapist has helped me A LOT since I've tapered off psych meds while we're TTC.
I REALLY hope your psych can give you some help in finding someone!

I don't know your religious beliefs, but many Christian denominations have counselors on staff. My counselor works through our local denominations office, and there are 2 or 3 other counselors there.
I hope you find someone to talk to ... you are worth hearing.
