Here is the thing - I need to take my vitamins and my protein. I am just not doing a good job in anyway.

Ready...set..go....I can take it.

I went to Rite Aid and got a pill box or everyday of the week.  I fill it every Sunday and the first thing I do in the morning is go to the pill box and take them all.  I just down them.  I hate the chewable vits, they taste nasty but what can you do.  When I usually drink my breakfast as some kind of shake with protein.  either I mix my own or I use an already made one.  It is hard to eat in the morning for me.  If I try to eat eggs or meat I can't eat more then 2 bites.

If you ever find a magic way to get in the protein please share.  I talk alot about this on the site cause I hate it, I hate it very much.  People encourage me to do it because I need it for my heart, brain and hair.  I just think about that I drink my shake.  I eat protein at every meal, it is pretty much all I eat.  It is just our new life, it's what we do.  That's how I think about it.

You have to do it, so do it.  Just do it!  LOL

Watch what you ask for, your thread title says one thing, then you ask for encouragement :).

You have NO option if you want to be healthy and not die a slow painful vitamin deficiency death or from malnutrition.

Set a timer and take your vitamins.

Eat and/or drink protien shakes.  Just Do It!

Your heart is a muscle, your body will EAT your heart to survive.

Yes this is hard, but you have to do it.

Log your intake, make sure you get enough protein, take your vitamins.  It's MANDATORY!

Your body needs protein to live, your body organs are muscles too. Lack of protein will force your body to pull from somewhere and that somewhere is your muscles.

Vitamins are necessities for your bones, blood, brain, etc.

I'm typing this simple it's much more complex then this. I'm walking out the door to go somewhere.

Lora, Kelly, Litha......if you are around can you elaborate, please?

A good friend of my mother's died after RNY because she went so long not following the plan. She didn't eat right and she never took any vitamins.

Knowing this, I still have not been able to drink more than a couple sips of a protein shake (but I'm trying) And I have only in the past week been able to tolerate the smell and taste of vitamins.

I don't know about "your body eating your heart" but I know my mom's friend died of multiple system failure.

I put my vitamins in a small dish on the kitchen counter. I see them throughout the day and take them as I walk by. If I am going to be out and about I put them in my pocket, and take them as I go. I have made a protein drink that is 62 grams of protein.

25 grams of protein (my protein is two scoops per serving)
one envelope protein drink--15 grams protein
one container of Greek yogurt--14 grams protein
eight ounces FF milk--8 grams protein

Very tasty, and high in calories, but it is good for most of the day, if I cant get anything else in. Approved my my nut.

I also crush the chewable vitamin and put it in my protein drink or in a bottle of calorie free flavored water.

This has really helped me, as I used to sit in my chair near tears at 10pm trying to get in all my vitamins and protein. Life is so much easier this way.

Hope this helps. Wow my body eating my heart scares me to death.
Good luck
Brenda

Nah, don't worry about it.

Nerve damage, brittle bones, and atrophied muscles are no big deal.
