now my kids don't want me to have surgery

umm I may be AGAINST the grain here... BUT I was around a size 18 to 22 and if it wasnt for having "fat illnesses" as I call them I would NOT have gotten it. My kids, culture and everything about MY life LOVED being big. I DO feel that the surgery needs to be altered for those who are above a certain weight like 300 PLUS, one higher than what is stated OR you have SERIOUS health issues as I did. Cause at 240 unless youre below 5'4 you're really NOT that big and considered a lightweight from what is said here on the boards.

lol @ fat illnesses. good way of putting it. since they go by bmi if you are under 40 you need those fat illnesses..my bmi is currently at a 42. i'm still in the horrid morbidly obese category thank goodness with no other complications yet other than gallstones.

It's easy to be against something when you are not educated about it. They also don't have a full understanding about how you feel about yourself and your health now. It's your decision and I am sure they will come around. Most opposition is rooted from either ignorance or fear.
