Is this good/normal?
I had surgery 5/2/11 so I will be 6 weeks out on Monday. I lost big in the first 2/3 weeks but now my weight loss is average 3 lbs per week. I work out 3 to 4 times a week.
I just wonder how other people who are with in the first 6 months post op are doing. I also wonder how much people are working out. Somedays I feel great and others I have no energy.

You're doing great! I wasn't even cleared to work out until 6 weeks out and I still haven't started. Could you of lost an average of 3 pounds a week and kept it off before surgery? I think working out 3-4 times a week is wonderful. You're doing better than I am lol.
To help with the energy make sure you are getting enough protein and some complex carbs on the days you workout. Are you taking a B-12 supplement? Low B-12 can also cause you to feel tired. I'm only a few weeks ahead of you and I average 3-4 pounds a week. I didn't lose at all the first week, but I've lost steadily since then. In fact I haven't hit an actual stall yet. I'm sure it's coming though.

Yeah, I get my B-12, and I do my best on the protein. I really try but I HATE HATE HATE the shakes, just hate them with all my heart and I have a really hard time getting them down. I have to drink one shake over a whole day. I take a few sips then put it back in the fridge. I will throw up if I drink too much of it at one time. This whole thing would be so much easier if I didn't have to worry about protein!
Think of protein like a life saving medicine. You have to have it. If you're having issues with the shakes you have then I'd try samples of some other flavors to see if you can find one you can tolerate. You can also check Eggface's and Nik's blogs for some great shake recipes. Some people just mix their protein with a few ounces of water and do it like a shot. If you're having that hard of a time with it you may want to try that. You've got to get your protein in though. If you don't your body will start taking away from your muscles and your heart is a muscle.
How much protein are you getting in a day? When I was where you are at I was averaging around 60g a day, but I actually like my shakes. Now I average close to 100g a day.

Well, on good days I get 60 or 70 I think. She it is hard to say. I have heard so many things about abortion. I was drinking this one kind of shake that is 35 grams of protein in 11 ounces. It is the one I tolerate the best. So I drink that, have a 15 to 20 gram fruit smoothie protein shake that I make myself, then I eat mostly protein at my meals. It is hard to tell how much protein I get from eating because I never eat a full serving.
Lately my appetite has gone to nothing. I find myself getting busy and forgetting to eat which I know is bad. Yesterday I went 5 hours with out eating. Nothing sounds good anymore, or if it does sound good I can't have it.
I am taking the weekend "off". Just staying home and trying to get my protein in and eating right...not that I don't eat right, I do pretty well with that, but when you are out you are not always in total control of what you eat.
I am afraid I will hit a stall soon. I dread that, I know it will happen but I dread it.

Mix your protein in a smaller quantity of water enough to drink it and be done with it as quickly as possible. You NEED the protein, as I posted to Heather your body will eat your organs to survive if you don't feed it. Your HEART is a muscle.

Thanks for the advice on the protein, I will do my best, I really do try and hit my mark on most days. I eat protein only for most of my meals. I even got these little snacks that are 15 grams of protein, so I am on it and doing what I need to do. I do admit that there are some days that I don't get it all.
When I first went into this I really didn't know what I expect. I had 95 lbs to lose to reach my personal goal of 145. I have lost 29lbs in 6 weeks. I don't really expect to loss any certain amount but I just wondered if what I was losing was average or not. I have about 60 lbs to go to reach goal now.
So I have this protein power that is 25 grams of protein per scoops. Could I just mix it with a touch of water and then eat it with a spoon? It would suck, but it would go in right?
Can you absorb more then 20 grams of protein at a time? I have heard different things on that. How much protein can you take in at one time and absorb it all?
