Magic Bullet fix

I had purchased a Magic Bullet a few years before my RNY in 2006.  I used it many times prior to surgery, and every day for the first 16 months after RNY, and still use a few times a week.  The Magic Bullet has always worked fine, until 2 days ago. It had been making some noise when my son made some protein shakes for himself.  I thought the blade mechanism was bad, but that was not the issue.  The Magic Bullet has a plastic drive takeoff that meshes with a rubber drive unit on the blade mechanism.  The plastic drive had finally failed 2 days ago, when a portion of it broke off.  I remembered a link I'd seen some time ago, and found it again.  http://www.ehow.com/how_5137984_repair-magic-bullet-blender. html will show you how to repair the Magic Bullet drive "gear".  Simple repair, using 2 pairs of pliers and a small flat screwdriver. You have to sacrifice a blade mechanism (black plastic part of mixing cup), but you normally get more than one blade mechanism with your purchase. OR, you can likely find the blade units at 2nd hand stores, or a new one is under $10 on Ebay.  Repair was done in less than 10 minutes.  Works well, and cost was nothing.  DAVE

THanks Dave.  I usually burn the motor on mine... (killed 2 already in last few years).
