Smoothies: What am I doing wrong?

I've been trying smoothie recipes that I found on the Eggface website.  However, when I blend them up and pour them in my cup, they are really foamy.  What am I doing wrong or are they suppose to be that way?

You're not doing anything wrong.  The blender just adds air -- I don't like the foam -- but a couple hours in the fridge and things settle.

Ultimately, I just went to using a blender bottle.

I bought a blender bottle this weekend.  I think I will stick with it.

Anytime you use a mixer of some sort to mix up your shake they will likely end up foamy. Just put a lid on them and put them back in the fridge for a half an hour. They will settle down.

I always liked them foamy.

I have not been to that site yet, but what are you using to make the smoothies?

Most times smoothies are foamy

Guess I was expecting them to be like those at Smoothie King.  Kinda like a think slush.  Not the case.  Foamy and nasty.  Protein is bad enough but now it taste like foamy crap instead of liquid crap.

well i think the more slush is from them adding alot of ice,  they make more money charging you for frozen water then ingredients in the smoothies  :)

I think I'm going to try blending up the ice, then put it all in my blender cup and see what happens.  Get creative!

I make shakes all the time in a blender and never get foam - I don't know what I do different but they are delicious. I do use a single serve blender if that makes a difference.

Here is my recipe that I use"

Chocolate Monkey

8 ounces of skim milk - I use lactaid
2 tablespoons of SF chocolate syrup (I use toroni or DaVinci)
5 ice cubes
1 1/2 scoops of chocolate protein powder (I use pro performance - 100% Whey Protein from GNC) = red package
2 tablespoons of SF chocolate pudding powder
1 sliced banana

Put it all in the blender at one time and blend for approx. 45se****il smooth. This gives you a delicious chocolate shake with approx. 45 grams of protein.
