What's for dinner - Thursday!

Ok so yesterday I survived my first day of "NNN" (not night noshing). It was rough. My noshometer was going OFF! But I really, really, really want to be the comeback kid. I want to lose these last 30 lbs. so that I can tell other post-ops that THEY can lose these last 30 lbs. Well that and I'd feel pretty awesome if I did it.

So I'm starting simple. I'm not going on a crazy carb deprivation plan, 5 day pouch test or anything silly like that (and sorry if you are a believer in the 5DPT but I do think it is very silly). I'm making realistic goals. One of them is NNN. Instetad, I looked at where I tend to get hungry and reconfigured my eating schedule so that I eat a GOOD protein heavy meal or snack at those times. My NUT seems to think I should drop down to 1200 calories. The last few days I've been at about 1500. Considering I burn 3000+ a day (per my GoWear) I think I have some leeway on that number. Or maybe I'm just deluding myself.

Anyhoo...dinner! I was going to make curried tilapia stew but in reality it will probably be a tortilla pizza and salad.

Here's what I've had today:

1. Steak/veggie scramble w/ 1 piece whole wheat toast and a few sprays of no-cal butter spray

2. 2 lunchmeat roll-ups with ham/roast beef with 1 tsp spicy hummus inside + 1 caramel pudding cup with a few shakes of salt.

3. A navel orange

I'm at about 550 calories, so I have a few to spend. I'm going to do a protein shake before the gym (that way I have dinner to look forward to when I get home. If I do dinner first, I will nosh...).

What's on your plate tonight?

It's one of those nights where I might just pick something up.  If so, it will be a salad from Chick-fil-a.  Otherwise some chicken on a flatout or an omelet.

I finally watched Nik's video on how to make chicken enchiladas, and I'm giving it a go... just sounded so delicious.  We'll see how they turn out...

Can't wait!

I'll be running with the boys so it's leftovers at our house.

Grilled chicken and steak with some type of veggie.  I'm really wanting okra so if time allows I'll stew some with tomatoes.

Beef roast... as much as I can eat it...I crave beef...  and my pouch likes it (tolerates it very well)

Hamburger patty, brown gravy and green beans.  I'm going out of town to visit family for the first time since my surgery tomorrow through Sunday and I'm not sure what will be available to eat but I'm going to really try to keep my protein levels up.  Any suggestions?

Night Noshing is My BIG FREAKING ISSUE right now.

Not wanting to eat, but it seems that as soon as I get home from work and stop sipping on protein shakes.... I start having serious blood sugar crashes..... so then I try to have something to counteract it, but I'm not making selections that work for me.

And that freaking scale continues to climb.

Just proteins in protein shakes make my BS crash.  But when i added a little fat to my shakes - everything works just fine. I may add 4-8 oz of almond (unsweet) milk or 2-4 tbs of cream (not half and half). Or eat 1/2 -1 tsp of almond butter with the shake.

Baked cod with a tablesppon or so of gremolata sauce, and Mediterranean roasted broccoli, both featuring lots of lemon and garlic. Surprisingly, everyone, including the little girl, liked it.
