Random Poll o' the Week: Mini-Goals
My goal for June is to stop handing the Y my money each month and not use the facilities. Which ties into trying to get to the gym and do something besides the treadmill (which I can do at home) at least once a week. My knee seems to have straightened itself out and I'm not in constant pain or feeling like it's going to dislocate at every step so it's time to get serious again and start moving my body.
I am going to WDW in October and I want to do the new Wild Africa Trek and I want to make sure that I am *well* below their 300lb cut-off *nods*

My biggest mini-goal is to lose 8 more pounds to get under 200. I stalled out at 212 for 3 weeks, now the scale is moving again and I have been at 208 for the last few days. I really, really, really want to see a 1 at the begining of the number on the scale!!! :)
I also need to drink more plain water and less "other stuff".

I met my first mini goal of hitting 199 pounds before my birthday on June 16th last week. Now I've promised myself not to set any more weight based mini-goals. My current goal is to take this whole week off from working out (not counting talking...I'm still doing that) to let my body heal. I over did it on a major hike on sunday and actually tore the muscles in my calves. I've barely been able to walk since then. I've been so crazy about exercising even on days it's hard for me to eat enough and my doctor's afraid i'm over doing it. So, this week I'm taking it easy. :)
My goals are pretty much daily, with significant dates thrown in for weight loss goals. I resolve everyday to: get protein in, stay under 850 calories, 45 minutes of exercise, 80 ounces of water. If I do all that its a successful day.
My long term goals are to: Run a mile in ten minutes or less, weigh under 160 lbs, get my black belt in karate. (one more year)
Short term: Onederland by June 10th.

I realized I didn't answer my own poll!
These days I'm thinking even smaller than the mini goal. Yes folks...Nik thinks in "micro-goals"
At this particular moment (3:47 p.m. EST) I have two microgoals - finish my last 24 oz. of liquids (I make a 64 oz. pitcher of crystal light to drink during the day and stick it in the office fridge. I usually drink a lot late at night but this way I know I'm covered for the day). The second is to get my child and get home to my planned protein shake WITHOUT stopping at 7-E for a noshfest. Microgoal #1 will make #2 harder. The more I drink, the faster I get hungry.
