OT RANT! Today is my birthday and.....
Yea that's not going to happen. First of all, little mouth aka my daughter would have already let the cat out of the bag on that one. Secondly, they all have too much going on today to have to think about dear ole mom. Oh well, hope they ate well at lunch!

Next year- put a huge sign on the fridge - a week before... that it is your birthday.
My friend was ;loudly hinting daily how much she looks forward to the gifts from family...
She claimed that she was "very excited to see how they are going to celebrate her birthday".
On her birthday - she came downstairs late ... and while everybody was waiting for her to do breakfast - she looked at them and in a surprise in her voice asked
" YOU Expected ME to COOK for YOU on MY birthday?" That did it... The family got embarrassed... and she got gifts, best wishes... later that day... and dinner out...

I am a little bit of a biotch, and I would either order or pick up some flowers for myself. Something that I like, that makes me smile when I see them. Then, I would schedule a massage. It is, after all, all about the birthday girl. Yes. You have to pick up the two who are not able to drive, but if you are like I am, there is plenty of food in the house, and fend for yourself on the odd occasion never hurt anyone.

I had the same thing for my birthday, and it was a big one... I hit 40, just 3 weeks post op. I was on puree's. My mom said she'd make dinner for us, and did after a bit. But she didn't know what I could eat. It took time. My kids well, my mom reminded them to wish me a happy birthday.
