eating depresses me so much.
I am just having such a hard time. Eating has become such a chore. I have to try to force myself to eat enough which I never can and most food makes me sick or just doesn't sit well. I am eating the same beans, the same yogurt, the same applesauce everyday. I try something new and usually get sick so I go back to the same old stuff. Also when I go to other people's house like my in laws everyone stares at me and asks me if I'm supposed to eat everything while I'm eating it. At work everyone comments on how much I eat. It drives me crazy. Tell me its going to get better.
It definitely will. Have you tried cup of soup cream of chicken? I loved that stuff early out. If you can tolerate it maybe you can add some unflavored protein powder to up the protein.
Just keep trying new things and eventually you will be able to eat more of a variety.

It really depends on your plan. I went home from the hospital able to eat 1/2 cup of full liquids at each meal for the first two weeks. My sister on the other hand is only allowed 2 tbsp of food her first two weeks home. (we had surgery two weeks apart at different hospitals)
I am three weeks out now and allowed 3/4 of a cup at each meal and next week I am moving to a full cup.
Did you get sent home with any materials from your surgeon? I have booklets for each stage that have been helpful for me.
If you are unsure of how much to eat check with your dr.

Are you sure when you are trying the new foods you are chewing enough? Try and count to 30 when you chew--we were all use to eating very fast. Also what really helped me out was to cook my chicken in the crock pot--you can put it in any kind of sauce- cheese soup, cream of chicken soup, spaghetti sauce, with black beans and salsa. It will fall apart and be very moist which really helps to digest it easier.
