What did you do about clothes while you were losing???
We have a plus size consignment here that has a pretty good selection and only takes name brand stuff so its good quality. Plus Im now down enough that i can once again shop at WALMART! Sounds silly I know but its SO much cheaper to shop there than it is Lane Bryant or Catherines...so im super excited about it lol. A lot of areas have clothing swaps too. And if youre area doesnt have one maybe post an add on CL and get one started for WLS peeps! Id bet youd have a lot of interested people!
Don't overbuy/overcollect. You will be in most sizes for so short a time that you won't have time to wear too many different things. People will notice your weight loss, not so much that you seem to have limited outfits. Your outfits won't seem limited either because you'kll be in the next size in not too long a time. Don't build a wardrobe, build a strategy. The only clothes I've invested serious money into are compression garments / shapewear.
I have gotten by so far on my storage clothes (most of which I didn't go back to because I blinked and they were baggy on me or the style was too outdated). The storage clothes of my mom and sister who also struggle with weight, walmart - especially good for cheap, transitional, but trending styles and I've recently started going to Goodwill/thrift stores. I pay forward all the clothes that I've shrunk out of to other WLS patients.
Recently I sent 3 big bags of clothes to a clothing swap organized by a fellow local OH'er. Maybe you could organize one of those for folks in your area?
