That's a common belief. There is no scientific evidence that we can only absorb 30g at a time. But as with anything, the body prefers to get its nutrients in doses so it's good to spread protein throughout the day.

I tended to go super high protein in the beginning because of malabsorption. To me, it stands to reason if I'm not absorbing all of the protein I eat, eating more protein overall increases the amount I'll absorb. At least that's what I tell myself. I don't think there's any scientific basis for THAT either but guess what? Doing it lost me 155 lbs.

I generally don't eat more than 30 grams of protein at a time but this shake is too good not to have. As you can see by my weight loss it hasn't hurt me one bit.

Hey Nik, In reference to your post yesterday,  I had a protein shake last night for dinner, usually I eat "real food" for dinner, however I snacked too much on cheese and beef jerky, figured I didn't need any more. That being said I am having problems this am stomaching my greek yogurt.. this is a first for me. Maybe it was the protein shake last night?

B- greek yogurt (trying)
S- protein drink
L- chicken breast
D- Not sure, my senior graduates today!!! Oh this mom is already teary eyed this am!!

Get the shrimp Pa Nang and skip the rice. Or get some Tom Yum soup with some sort of protein in it (usually they let you add a protein for an additional fee).

Stay the HELL away from: the Pad Thai (the mountain of noodles will give you a carb coma just looking at it) and the Drunken Noodles (for obvious reasons). Oh and the mango and sticky rice (also for obvious reasons).

Also if they have satay chicken that is uber-yummy.

Well the drunken noodles are good if you like spicy food. They are wonderful and I miss them very much. But me and noodles are not friends.

The Pa Nang is a curry but it's a citrusy curry, so it's tangy and savory at the same time. I like it with the shrimp but they also serve it with chicken as well. It comes sort of soup-y with rice (to sop up the juice). Like I said, I skip the rice which leaves me room for a salad with peanut dressing :)

Tom Ka Gai!
The place I go doesn't go crazy with the coconut milk, so it's not too rich, and with the lemon grass and the chicken and the mushrooms....
