You can try your local animal shelter, they may have discount vouchers for spay and neutering also try spayusa.org they may be able to give you some direction

Maybe he wants to start a family instead of having more cats???

If he does not want one maybe it's best if you don't adopt. It would put un-necessary strain on your relationship. Cherish the cat you have for now and wait a little longer.

First of all I have to say, I plan to be a cat lady in my next life.  LOL     Does your husband like the current fur ball??   If so bring home the kitten and let him fall in love.   My DD works nights and has to go find a cat to come sleep with him.  LOL

Don't get one.  I am speaking from a 45 yr. old perspective here, and am having this same discussion with my 19 yr. old on a daily basis. I have 3 cats. She wants a kitten for the same reasons you posted: cute, loving, wonderful, yet.....as you know, they grow up quickly and then what?  You'll love the "cat", but you'll want another cute, loving, wonderful kitten.

I adore cats, but there are so many out there in need of a home because everyone wants a cute, loving, wonderful kitten.   Please do what I'm suggesting to my daughter if you want another one, and adopt a full grown, cute, loving, wonderful CAT that is in need of a home because no one wanted it after it was no longer a kitten.  It'll probably already be spaded, and have it's shots, so less cost there, and it will still be a fun friend for the cat you already own!! :D Full grown cats can absolutely become fast friends!   Win-win!! :D

It can break your heart to see all the full grown cats at a shelter, and if you can bring a kitten into your home and heart, please try to do it with one of those beauties that are so in need of your love first!  :D   'Nough said.

When I was married and my kids were little.. I wanted a pug puppy so badly, my now ex husband was against it.. so I just decided to bring it home, what could he do at that point?  During our divorce he actually put in the divorce papers that I had no regard for finances and purchased an expensive pedigree pooch without discussing it with him... then a few pages later he asked for visitation with the dog!!!!!!!!!! LMAO.  If you love your husband I would not actually recommend getting the cat without his agreeing! =)

I'm all with your husband on this.  I am totally not a cat person, I tolerate them when at others houses but would never go out of my way to get one.  Is your husband a cat person or does he simply tolerate the one you have?

If he isn't a cat person then I wouldn't try to force the issue after all is it worth the frustration over a cat?  There will be bigger and better things to argue over.
